Celtic Women striker Saoirse Noonan could be on her way out of the club amid rumours that she is attracting foreign interest.
The striker has been in fine form for the Hoops this season, netting 16 goals and recording five assists in 22 appearances in the Scottish Women’s Premier League. She is a fan favourite at the club and often pops up in big moments, but she could be keen on a different challenge after some time at the club.
Noonan joined in 2024 under former manager Elena Sadiku and has worked her way back into the Ireland national team during her time in Glasgow. At the age of 26, she is still in her prime years, and now, it appears that big leagues from around the world are taking notice.
According to soccerdonna.co.uk, clubs from the WSL and WSL2 south of the border are keen on her, with NWSL, Serie A, and Belgian Super League sides also keeping an eye on the forward.
Celtic have the advantage as Noonan is under contract at Parkhead until 2027, despite suggestions that her contract expires in the summer. SportSource tracks all Celtic contracts and can confirm her deal runs until next year.
The Irish international holds a lot of talent and is a real goalscoring threat. Any team would be lucky to have her, and with the Hoops expected to lose as many as 15 players at the end of the season, seeing her go would be a huge blow for Grant Scott. He will be a player that he wants to keep on their books, but if an offer comes in, it could be hard to resist, as any club interested would need to pay a fee for her services.
No decision has been made yet, and we don’t know the names of the clubs that see her as a viable option, but Hoops fans will be praying that they can keep their striker.
